Stop “Multitasking” and Increase Productivity

Multitasking is a myth. Research supports that multitasking can lead to memory impairment, increase stress levels and even lower your IQ. So why do we attempt it? What do we think we’re accomplishing? We think we’re getting more than one thing done at once, right? Unfortunately, that assumption is false. Multitasking actually decreases productivity by 40 percent.

This requires your brain to switch between many different focuses, costing you brain cells. However, it seems, even if we don’t want to we continue to do it. It’s a bad habit and almost a staple of our culture. The great news is habits can be broken. This article suggests a few ways you can make that happen and largely increase productivity.
